Adobe AfterEffects/Flash Training Course

From Adobe After Effects to Flash with Tom Green
Duration: 2 days

Tom Green

Course Synopsis: In this two day hands-on training class, students will explore the potential power and creativity boost that can be unleashed when After Effects and Flash are used together. This class, with author Tom Green, is designed to get you up to speed with working in these two applications while hitting you with some creative innovation. A copy of Tom Green's latest publication, "From After Effects to Flash: Poetry in Motion Graphics" will be included in this two day class.

About the Instructor: Teacher, Author, Lecturer, Raconteur, Chief Cook and Bottle Washer, Professor, Interactive Multimedia through Humber College's School of Media Studies in Toronto. Tom Green is the author(co-author) of numerous publications including the Captivate Visual QuickStart, Building Web Sites with Macromedia StudioMX, Flash Professional 8: Training from the source, Building Dynamic Web Sites with Macromedia Studio MX 2004, Foundation Flash Video, and From After Effects to Flash: Poetry in Motion Graphics. Tom is also a regular contributor to the MX Developers Journal where he writes about the integration of the tools in the MX 2004 Studio and is also a Community MX Partner.

Who Should Attend: This course is for designers and developers with experience with Adobe After Effects and Flash (Flash 8 Professional recommended). Experience working with video, filters, and ActionScript is also recommended.

Prerequisites: Because of the amount of material we cover in class, we do require students to be comfortable using a mouse, opening and saving files, and the general operations of computers. While we will make every reasonable effort to help, students with insufficient skills may be required to observe the class lessons or do their best to keep up without slowing down the rest of the class. We highly recommend attending the Flash 8: Rich Content Creation course before attending this course.

• Creating Text animations
• Working with layers and timelines
• Masking Video
• After Effects parenting
• Special Effects in A/E and Flash
• Using and coding a video object
