Adobe eLearning Suite now available

Adobe has added a new suite of tools for those involved in creating eLearning. It includes Adobe Captivate 4, Flash CS4 with the Free Learning Interactions, Dreamweaver CS4 with a compatible version of the CourseBuilder Extension, Photoshop CS4 Extended, Acrobat 9 Pro, Presenter 7, Soundbooth CS4, Bridge CS4, Device Central CS4 and a SCORM Packager.

We’ll be offering training on the new versions of Captivate shortly and will have special lessons on the Flash Learning Interactions and CourseBuilder Extension, as well as the SCORM packager available by special request.

List price on the Suite is $1799. Since Captivate and Presenter are Windows only products, this is a Windows only release.

Using Captivate to Create Printed Training Materials

While most people who know a little about Adobe Captivate think of it as a screen recorder for creating Flash movies, I’ve often wondered why it’s not promoted more for documentation. This Captivate article on Adobe’s Developer Connection Website explains how to use the product for step-by-step printed documentation. Of course, it’s a little dated in that it refers to Captivate 2.
