Test GoToTraining setup

(GoToTraining and GoToMeeting are two similar services that use the same software and the names are sometimes interchanged.)

[edit] Instructions for preparing and testing GoToTraining setup for Windows

  1. Confirm that your headset or microphone and headphones are plugged in and turned on.
  2. Go to <http://support.citrixonline.com/en_US/Meeting/help_files/G2M010002?Title=Download+GoToMeeting>. Download and install the appropriate software for your operating system. Depending on the speed of your computer and Internet connection, the process may take several minutes. Ignore any messages regarding a "recording component".
  3. System tray icon example
    Once installation is complete, a GoToMeeting icon will appear on your system tray. Right-click on the icon and click Preferences....
  4. Deselect the Remember me on this computer checkbox.
  5. Under Category on the left side, click Audio.
  6. Talk into the microphone and see if the microphone level meter shows green. If not, try selecting a different microphone from the microphone device list and repeat the test. If the indicator doesn't show green for any item on the device list, please visit the GoToMeeting support center.
  7. Click the Play Sound button and slide the volume level control to the right until you can hear the music well. If you do not hear the music, adjust the control to its original setting and try selecting another device and repeat the test. If you are unable to hear the music using any device setting, please visit the GoToMeeting support center.
  8. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window.
  9. Follow the three steps at <http://support.citrixonline.com/en_US/Meeting/help_files/G2M050001?title=Test+your+Connection%2C+Audio+or+Webcam#Before> for testing your connection.
  10. If all tests are successfully passed. Send an email to Ledet Training at administration@ledet.com indicating that your computer is ready for the class.

  3. If all three steps were successful, send an email to Ledet Training at administration@ledet.com indicating that your computer is ready for the class
